Providing Forest School experiences both at school and at our local provision is an important part of our rich curriculum as it develops key skills. Reception children enjoyed a warm Autumn afternoon this week at Chestnut Farm. The children worked well as a team to hunt for different types of seeds, looked at the different trees and enjoyed their fruit in the wood. #loveoflearning

  • Team 5 and 6 Cycling

    Thu 23 May 2019 C Butterworth

Some children from Team 5 and Team 6 participated in a cycling event at King Edward Sports College. The children showed perseverance, resilience and excellent teamwork skills throughout the morning. It was a tough challenge for them, as they had to cycle up-hill a lot and learn to use gears to help during different parts of the course. We had a team pursuit, a team relay and boys and girls races. Even Mrs Butterworth and Mrs Perry took part in a teacher race! We were very proud of the children who represented Team Moira!

  • Open Faith visit for year 4 and 5

Respect and tolerance are two character strengths that children and staff at Moira talk about every day.... all part of our ‘Together we try’ motto and well-being work on developing a wide range of positive character strengths. With this in mind our year 4 and 5 children had a wonderful time at the ‘Open Faith’ Centre where they could appreciate the various cultures and religions that are part of our modern society. The children were absolutely fantastic.. we were very proud of them.
  • Reception Stay and Play

    Tue 14 May 2019 K Hambleton
At Moira we love having our children learn alongside their family - a perfect opportunity to see how  children are taught in school, to share fun times and feel part of the Moira Community. Reception parents are enjoying our ‘Stay and Play’ sessions. The first visit was to take part in a Maths Mastery session where children were learning all about the number 12 ( in a lot of depth!) It was great to see you all. Keep your eyes open for our future dates.
