A busy week of sports!!!!

Wow this week has been hugely busy and it's only Wednesday.

Cross Country:

Saturday saw 7 children, from across the whole school, turn out to the soggy cross-country field at an event hosted by Packington. We had children from the first event to the last. They all ran superbly and had great fun splashing in the mud.(Official results to follow.)

It would be great to see more of you out there representing the school at these events. They really are fun. Next event is at Broom Leys (Coalville) on Saturday 18th Nov- 10am start.

Football:

Tuesday saw the new football kit make it's first appearance and team morale was very high. Everyone was enthusiastic and keen to get involved despite the rain- yes more rain!!! The team worked well together, switching in and out as we took advantage of being able to use rolling subs. We had some great play and were praised very highly by our opposition, saying how close a match it was and how well the children all played. Well done to Freya and Hagen who had special mentions as 'both being fab in goal'. The whole team played so well in the conditions but unfortunately we lost 3-1 to Ellistown. Well done!

Onwards and upwards to our next match next week away at Hilltop.

Sportshall (Indoor) Athletics:

Finally, Wednesday has seen a group of 11 children from Y5/6 take part in a sportshall athletics competition. A great fun session where they children all took part in a mixture of running and 'field' events. They competed in events such as: obstacle relays, over and under relays, 1 lap races, standing long jump and vertical jump, to name a few. Well done again to everyone taking part.

Please let me know if there are any competitions you would like to take part in and I will see what else we can get involved in.
