Intent
At Moira, we want our pupils to flourish and grow into positive, confident adults who contribute effectively to society. Through our school ethos and values, the strength of our relationships, our curriculum and our focus upon cultural capital; we prepare our children to be global citizens in a diverse society and prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences for later life.
We are aware of the way that Personal Development supports many of the principles of safeguarding and links closely to schools Safeguarding, SMSC and British Values Policies. We are all aware of the important role the Personal Development curriculum has in supporting school to implement the nine protected characteristics of The Equality Act 2010. Links with other local services also ensures that that the delivered curriculum reflects the needs of our pupils.
At Moira , our Personal Development curriculum incorporates an age appropriate understanding of RSHE, as set out in the statutory guidance, enabling all children to be safe and to understand and develop healthy relationships both now and in their future lives.
