PSHE and RSHE

If you have any questions about Personal Development, please do not hesitate to speak to the Subject Leader, Deb Johnson (Year 5 teacher). It is also worth looking at our wellbeing page which is in the parents section of the website.

From September 2020, Relationships and Health Education has become a mandatory part of the school curriculum. It forms part of our PSHE programme, which is taught right the way through our school.

PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education.  These are areas of great importance and will play a vital role in the lives of our children as they grow and develop into resilient adults.  It underpins the ethos of Moira and part of everything we do as well as the discrete lessons the children have each week.

We are following the Coram SCARF Programme of study.

Our school introduces one key PSHE theme each half term across our school. Learning in this area is built upon as the year progresses and revisited in subsequent years.

The themes are:

  • Me and My Relationships
  • Valuing Difference
  • Keeping Myself Safe
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Growing and Changing
  • Being My Best
