Welcome

Welcome to Moira Primary School - Leicestershire!

On behalf of the staff, pupils and governors we would like to welcome you and your family to Moira Primary School. As a community we are all very proud of our school which is striving for excellence in all areas. With family values and a positive nurturing ethos we know that your child will be very happy here. Dedicated and hard working staff will provide your child with a wealth of experience and opportunities that will lead them through their educational career... and have fun along the way! At Moira the partnership between parents and the school is invaluable and warmly welcomed; we look forward to working with you over the forthcoming years.

Moira Primary School began its life as a Infant School which was originally designed in 1963 to replace the old building on School Street in Moira. In 2011 the school was granted Primary status and building work began to add a Key Stage 2 block. The school is now a fully fledged primary school.

Our school is housed in a one-storey building consisting of three classrooms in the infant building which are home to EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2. Within the new KS2 building Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 have separate classrooms. The school has the luxury of a spacious library and ICT area within the new building along side a smaller dedicated group learning area which all pupils across the school can access. Within the infant building a large hall provides opportunities for whole school activities alongside a warm and welcoming central area housing the main office, head teachers office and additional work areas for small groups and one to one provision. Our school is located within a large, landscaped playing field that also includes an enclosed wildlife area, 2 playgrounds with access to various play equipment making it perfect for environmental work and physical activity alike.
